STATE OF CALIFORNIA: ( Click here for Espanol)

Effective January 1, 2005 the State of California has adopted the Waste Recycling Act of 2003, which requires mandatory collection of an advanced recycling fee on the initial sale of certain electronic products. This includes all of the television and video display models produced by Prima Technology under the brands Advent, Jensen and Prima, including combination TV/DVD models.

All of our models containing cathode ray tubes, LCD displays or plasma displays are part of this extensive California environmental recycling program.

For additional information, customers should refer to:   www.erecycle.org

Under the California law, after January 1, 2005 the recycling fee on the initial sale of products is based on the screen size when measured diagonally:

  • $6 Screen sizes less than 15 inches

  • $8 Screen sizes equal to 15 inches but less than 35 inches

  • $10 Screen sizes equal to or greater than 35 inches

These waste recycling fees are imposed on the first sale in the state of California for each covered product to a consumer by a retailer. Retailers that sell these models will collect the fee.
The state agency responsible for implementing the new law is the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB). The CIWMB website on the Waste Recycling Act of 2003 can be found here:  www.ciwmb.ca.gov

STATE OF MAINE:

As a television manufacturer we have submitted a plan to comply with Maine's E-Waste Law covering television manufacturers effective January 1, 2006 and are listed in compliance with Maine's E-Waste law.  This requirement is under the state of Maine Department of Environmental Protection (MEDEP) 38 MRSA 1610.6.
